Laxmedals.com is proudly working with the Christian Koehler Memorial Foundation to provide a one-of-a-kind award medal in support of this special event. In May of 2008, Chris was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma brain tumor. He immediately started chemotherapy and was treated at Cornell to remove the brain tumor. Christian was an amazing boy who always had a smile on his face throughout his treatment. In March 2009 he became more symptomatic and deteriorated quickly. He passed away on May 29, 2009. He is survived by his loving parents, Janine & Chris and his siblings, Allison, Anthony and baby sister Victoria who was welcomed into the family on May 4, 2012.
In his memory, our family & friends hold an annual Christian Koehler Lacrosse Tournament in Suffolk County, Long Island. The tournament is comprised of Long Island town teams. Proceeds are donated to Make-A-Wish and to local families in need of financial assistance.
The 5th Annual Christian Koehler Lacrosse Tournament will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Heckscher State Park in East Islip. Please visit this link to get involved and support a good cause in the lacrosse community: http://christiankoehlerfoundation.org/New.html
